Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Pediatric Sonographer for full-time work at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. New graduates are encouraged to apply; we provide training. The role includes day shifts with some evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis, plus comprehensive benefits and parking options.

Join a nationally ranked pediatric imaging team and contribute to a wide range of ultrasound procedures while supporting patient care and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Covers call and off-shifts on a rotational basis.
• Performs a variety of technical ultrasound procedures to assist in a patient’s medical diagnosis.
• Displays knowledge of equipment operations, anatomy, and scanning techniques resulting in optimized image data/documentation.
• Documents and considers patient history, laboratory data, and physical findings.
• Ensures all exams are properly coded and networked through appropriate systems, and ensures all charges are correct for exams performed.
• Assists with training staff, student sonographers, and physicians.
• May be responsible for High Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and/or equipment.
• Demonstrates ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.

Work Schedule:

• Primarily daylight, weekday hours with 8- and 12-hour shifts!
• Rotating weekend, overnight, and holiday coverage.
• Infrequent on-call hours, if needed.
