Job summary

Nexus Children’s Hospital – Shenandoah, TX is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver specialized care for pediatric patients with behavioral health needs. You will assess mental health status, administer interventions, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, therapeutic care.

The role requires current Texas RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS within 45 days. Night shifts are available on a full-time / PRN schedule, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Texas (or compact).
• BLS required; ACLS within 45 days.
• (de-escalation) training within 30 days of hire.
• 1+ year psychiatric, behavioral health, or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric nursing care following Texas practice guidelines.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient mental and physical health status.
• Respond promptly to psychiatric and medical emergencies.
• Support patient de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies.
• Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and families to implement care plans.
