Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, invites applications for a Research Faculty position within the Department 10384 Research Ctr for Genetic Med. The role supports developing and conducting scholarly work, securing external funds, and mentoring lab staff and students.

Expectations include publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, and contributing to educational programs while collaborating with GWU and the Children’s National Research Institute community.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MD is required and endorsed for a full Faculty appointment at GWU.
• Minimum 2 years progressive research experience (required).
• Demonstrated potential to contribute uniquely in the research field.
• Strong ability to secure external funding, develop manuscripts and deliver presentations.

Responsibilities

• Commitment to Responsible Conduct of Research and compliance with regulations.
• Plan, conduct and manage research projects under the PI.
• Use research funds and resources appropriately.
• Maintain data confidentiality as required.
• Meet annual training and compliance requirements.
• Mentor staff, students and post-graduate fellows in area of expertise.
