Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston is seeking a registered nurse to collaboratively deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process. You will conduct assessments, assist with exams and treatments, educate patients, and maintain accurate medical records.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program and Texas RN license with BLS certification; additional unit-specific certifications may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
• Certified in Basic Life Support; additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
• Coordinates planning for delivery of nursing care with interdisciplinary team; administers appropriate clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with, directs, and may delegate to the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on data, research, and standards of care.
• Coordinates treatment plans; develops/implements discharge and/or transfer plans.
• Participates in systemic, interdisciplinary evaluation of programs and process improvement.
• Considers diverse needs of each patient through the continuum of care, maintaining service standards and patient experience.
• Adheres to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to Memorial Hermann policies within budget and time management.
• Promotes professional growth; may serve as preceptor/mentor to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community with compassionate experiences.
• Other duties as assigned.
