Job summary

Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) seeks a Pediatric Registered Dietitian to support children with complex nutrition needs. You’ll work with providers, families, and care teams to develop personalized plans and promote healthy growth from infancy through adolescence.

This role emphasizes family-centered, evidence-based nutrition care, care coordination, and advocacy within an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, foods and nutrition or related area granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.
• Master's degree required.
• Current Oregon Registered Dietitian Licensure in good standing required.
• Additional recognized certifications in addition to RD include: Certified Diabetes Educator, OHA HCI Qualified or Certified Interpreter.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nutrition care by assessing patients, developing personalized care plans, and supporting healthy growth and development from infancy through adolescence.
• Educate and empower families through nutrition counseling, chronic disease management, patient education, and culturally responsive, family-centered care.
• Coordinate care across the healthcare continuum by partnering with primary care providers, specialists, community organizations, and social service agencies to ensure seamless patient support.
• Advocate for patients by assisting with medical necessity documentation, insurance appeals, nutritional equipment and formula requests, and connecting families with needed resources.
• Drive quality and collaboration by participating in interdisciplinary care teams, quality improvement initiatives, care coordination, and PCPCH efforts while promoting evidence-based pediatric nutrition.

Requirements

Education and Certification

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, foods and nutrition or related area granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.
• Master's degree required.
• Current Oregon Registered Dietitian Licensure in good standing required.
• Additional recognized certifications in addition to RD (required) include: Certified Diabetes Educator, OHA HCI Qualified or Certified Interpreter.

Experience

• Preferred experience in a healthcare environment or working with young children & families experiencing specialized needs, or other high-quality early care and education settings.
• Exceptional and proven communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population of professionals. Ability to facilitate and reach consensus among health care professionals and community partners to achieve expected results. Ability to multi-task and work independently. Attention to detail. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision‑making skills. Ability to work in a team and promote team driven outcomes. Knowledge of Patient Centered Primary Care Home and Care Coordination curriculum. Clinical informatics knowledge and skills. Experience giving presentations.
• Epic EMR experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level in person, over the telephone or through use of other required technology. Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Frequent repetitive motion includes computer keyboard use, reaching with hands and arms, and walking. Occasional lifting and or moving up to 30 pounds and on rare occasion up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include viewing computer monitor for long periods of time, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Working Conditions

• Standard medical office; may be eligible for combination of on site and home office. Refer to Remote Work Policy for details.
• Work inside in a general medical office setting with ergonomically configured equipment.
• The employee is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to mechanical parts and chemicals including odors. The employee has been identified as having the likelihood of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials, therefore are included in the OSHA Exposure Control Plan with specification for preventing contact with the above materials.
• Travel between COPA clinics, business office and community partners as required.
