Job summary

PM Pediatrics in Brick Township, NJ is seeking a Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) to support pediatric urgent care with radiologic procedures and patient care under physician supervision. The role covers history taking, imaging, safety, and equipment QC, with flexibility to rotate to sister offices as needed.

Qualified candidates are graduates of a Radiologic Technologist program with knowledge of medical terminology, EHRs (eCW preferred), and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Graduated from Radiologic Technologist program.
• Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic’s processes, and procedures.
• Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally.
• Knowledge of digital imaging.
• Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
• Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shift.
• Document repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter read.
• Assist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipment.
• Immediately report any equipment malfunctions to management team.
• Be an integral part of the patient care team
• Keep exam and x-ray room stocked with adequate supplies.
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assists patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed.
