Job summary

MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network is seeking a Psychometrist to administer and score a variety of psychological and neuropsychological tests for pediatric patients. You will assess cognitive, developmental, behavioral and emotional status across a wide age range and collaborate with psychologists and neuropsychologists during real-time testing.

The role requires experience with children, a Master’s degree (or equivalent) and preferred CSP certification.

Position Summary

To administer and score psychological and neuropsychological test batteries including the assessment of cognitive, academic, neuropsychological, developmental, behavioral, and emotional status. Patient populations include pediatric medical specialties and multidisciplinary clinics.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and score psychological tests to children of varying ages under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist. Psychometrist expertise and input desired with collaboration with the psychologist / neuropsychologist for "real time" testing protocol adjustments to meet patient presentation at the time of assessment.
  • Trouble-shoot difficult testing situations and administer tests that are developmentally appropriate for the child. Adapt the administration of tests to the specific needs of each patient while staying within the standardized procedures set forth for each specific test.
  • Provide a written summary of the patient’s behavior during testing, including any interactions with the patient’s parents or peers that may be observed incidentally.
  • Write progress notes in the medical record to keep hospital personnel informed of the status of referrals.
  • Manage software applications related to scoring psychological and neuropsychological test and testing data.
  • Review and ensure timeliness, accuracy, and availability and security of information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children required.
  • Experience working in pediatric medical setting preferred.
  • 2 years working in Psychometry position or equivalent experience administering of psychological tests in similar position required.
  • Expertise and experience with a wide range of chronological ages, developmental stages and complex medical diagnoses.
  • Master’s degree required or equivalent experience. Candidates currently or previously functioning as a psychometrician without Master's degree will be reviewed on an individual basis.
  • Formal training in administration of psychological tests preferred.
  • Certified Specialist in Psychometry (CSP) preferred.
