Job summary

Optimal Beginnings is seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to lead its Psychology Department within a growing multispecialty pediatric practice. The role focuses on comprehensive evaluations for children and adolescents, psychotherapy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate will supervise Psychology Associates and contribute to program growth, including integrating services with ABA and other specialties.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited program in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or School Psychology.
• Licensed or license-eligible in Virginia as a Clinical Psychologist.
• Willing to obtain a license to practice psychology in Maryland.
• Minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral clinical experience.
• Experience supervising Psychology Associates.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Psychology Department and collaborate with leadership to shape its future.
• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for children and adolescents.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy for children, teens, and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including SLPs and BCBAs.
• Administer batteries including clinical interviews, observations, and cognitive/academic measures.
• Generate integrated psychological reports and maintain timely records in the EHR.
• Coordinate communication with parents to obtain necessary documentation.
• Mentor and supervise Psychology Associates.
