Job summary

First Day Homecare in Michigan is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide skilled pediatric private duty nursing in clients' homes. You will perform nursing tasks under medical direction and follow each client's care plan.

Shift options include full-time day coverage, 8a-8p, with an emphasis on safety, documentation, and coordination with the care team. The role requires strong communication, driving to assignments, and adherence to Agency policies.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license to practice in Michigan.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and CPR certification.
• Proof of a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
