Job summary

APN Staffing and Employment Solutions is seeking a Pediatric Physician for a full-time, direct-hire role in central Arizona. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with a base salary of $220,000 plus bonuses. Board-certified or board-eligible pediatricians are preferred.

CME requirements must be maintained, with demonstrated excellence in patient care and supervision of medical staff. The ideal candidate will assess patients, perform procedures such as immunizations and suturing, and

Qualifications

• cuatro-year undergraduate and medical training culminating in MD/DO; 1-year internship; 2-year residency.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics is required.
• Annual CME requirements must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, obtaining, updating and studying medical histories
• Identify short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information; recommends options and course of action
• Perform therapeutic procedures, such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection
• Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal and abnormal development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance
• Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with other Physicians concerning appropriate treatment
• Perform referrals to specialists as needed, write prescriptions for medications and equipment, and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment
• Instruct nurses, medical assistants, back-office assistants regarding assistance with patient care
• Protect patients and employees by following policies and protocols regarding infection control, medication administration, storage procedures and controlled substance regulations
• The Physician will be Board certified with their recognized certifying organization. In the event the provider is not certified, but board eligible for certification, the provider agrees to obtain certification within two years of the contract effective date

Education

Completion of a four-year undergraduate, 4 years Medical School earning a MD or DO degree, 1 year rotating Internship, 2 years Residency

Board certification or Board eligible in Pediatrics

A Physician provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsible supervision of the Department Director / Chair.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise Medical and PA students during their clinic training
• Act as a Supervising Physician for Physician Assistants employed by the Center
• Acts as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health of patients
• Contribute to team effort by fulfilling on-call duties and hospital hours
• Perform all other related duties as assigned or requested
