Job summary

Shriners Children’s Chicago is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist to provide evaluation and direct treatment for orthopedic, SCI, and rehabilitation patients. You will deliver education and training to families, contribute to a team-based care approach, and gain exposure to multiple clinical settings while growing in practice.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Physical Therapy, an Illinois license, and at least one year of rehab/therapy experience; pediatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Illinois PT license is required.
• One year rehab/therapy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and timely initial and discharge evaluations and assessments based on interview, observation and test results suitable for the child.
• Performs standardized assessments and shares results with family and team members.
• Implements comprehensive, individualized PT programs incorporating growth and development principles.
• Provides motor skills, balance, flexibility, endurance, gait, transfer and mobility training.
• Conducts clinic screenings and discusses findings with patient, family and physician as appropriate.
• Initiates discharge equipment needs in collaboration with the Care Coordination Department.
