Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with dispensing, repackaging, compounding, and delivery of medications for patients from birth to adult. Responsibilities include maintaining stock, updating formulation records, and ensuring timely medication delivery within the department.

Qualifications include RPHT-TX or Pharmacy Intern status, CPHT certification preferred, and 2+ years of experience.

Qualifications

RPHT-TX - Registered Pharmacy Technician with State Board required
PHAR INT - Pharmacy Intern
CPHT certification preferred
2 years pharmacy technician experience preferred
40 hours sterile compounding training required by ACPE/ASHP preferred

Responsibilities

Processes prescriptions/medication orders and prepares medication
Ensures proper distribution/delivery of pharmaceutical and supply shipments
Ensures doses delivered within established time-frame standards
Completes daily and monthly activity checklists including expired drug checking and ordering
Checks all communications including e-mail and mailbox each shift
Completes daily filing of medication orders and stop orders
Maintains stock with Materials and Logistics
Updates formulations and Master Formulation Book in the pharmacy area
Performs weekly inspections of pharmacy areas for drug accountability and study drugs
Prepares scheduled patient study visits
Undergoes respiratory fit testing as required by safety standards
