Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a dedicated patient care assistant to provide approved care and support under RN supervision in Greendale, Wisconsin. You will assist with activities of daily living, supervise developmentally appropriate activities, and help with patient transport and 1-on-1 observation as needed.

As part of a frontline team, you will document patient information, communicate changes in condition, maintain a safe environment, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with clinical rotation completed at ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited program
• State CNA registry (Ohio STNA) or reciprocity within 180 days if CNA from another state
• Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry listed
• 1+ year patient care experience in last 3 years
• CPR certification training and maintenance required

Responsibilities

• Provide approved care to assigned patients under RN supervision
• Supervise activities of daily living for patients
• Supervise developmentally appropriate activities
• Assist with patient transport and 1-on-1 observation as needed
• Use crisis control techniques and de-escalate patients/visitors
• Communicate patient status during shifts and in handoffs
• Complete timely documentation in the medical record
• Maintain a safe, organized, infection-controlled environment
• Respond to alarms and emergencies with urgency
• Assist orientation and training of new staff
