Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands seeks a Patient Care Assistant for its PACU. You will perform routine and specialized patient care under the RN, focusing on Family Centered Care, safety, and developmentally appropriate practices for children and adolescents.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, CNA/Nursing Assistant certification or program, and at least 1 year of direct patient care experience. Respiratory fit testing is required for safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal nursing assistant program or certification.
• BSN student with at least one clinical rotation completed by hire.
• Minimum 1 year of direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collection and documentation of patient/family data.
• Record vital signs and notify RN of abnormalities.
• Provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care in collaboration with the RN and family.
• Collaborate with multiple RNs to prioritize workload.
• Assist in identifying patient/family response to care provided.
• Support development and modification of the plan of care with the RN.
• Maintain accountability for personal and team development.
• Demonstrate professional communication and customer service.
• Contribute to hospital/unit goals.
• Undergo respiratory fit testing as required by health standards.
