Job summary

Great Bay Staffing Group is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Pediatric Therapy team in Birmingham, Alabama. In this Early Childhood & Pediatric OT role, you will evaluate and treat infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, and motor skill delays.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (MS, MOT) or Doctorate (OTD) in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE-accredited program.
• Current Alabama OT license or eligibility for Alabama OT licensure.
• Active NBCOT certification.
• Current CPR and BLS certification.
• Pediatric experience preferred in EI/early childhood settings.
• Background in sensory integration therapy or related certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pediatric OT evaluations to establish baseline function and goals.
• Develop individualized treatment plans targeting fine motor development, sensory integration, and independence.
• Provide direct OT interventions with play-based sessions focusing on hand strength, bilateral coordination, and handwriting foundations.
• Implement sensory integration strategies to support regulation and daily routines.
• Address self-care skills such as feeding, dressing, toileting, and adaptive equipment use.
• Educate families and caregivers with home programs and environmental modifications.
• Maintain thorough clinical documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with SLPs, PTs, COTAs, educators, and families for coordinated care.
