Shriners Children’s is seeking a full‑time Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team at Shriners Children’s New England in Springfield, MA. This surgeon will provide comprehensive care across the full spectrum of pediatric orthopedic conditions, with additional opportunity to help expand our Sports Health Medicine program.
The weekly schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., consisting of two operating room days, two clinic days, and one flex day dedicated to administrative responsibilities or research, offering a balanced blend of surgical practice, outpatient care, and academic or program‑development work. There is no emergency room call expectation.
All clinical documentation and workflow are supported through Epic. Typical volumes include 2–4 surgeries per week and 14–18 clinic patients per day. Surgical cases range from tendon releases and simple fractures to complex lower‑extremity procedures such as ACL reconstructions, patellofemoral reconstructions, and meniscal repairs. Clinic practice spans the full breadth of pediatric orthopedics, including sports injuries, neuromuscular conditions, lower‑extremity malalignment, cleft lip and palate–related orthopedic needs, and other musculoskeletal concerns.
The incoming surgeon will join a collaborative team of eight pediatric orthopedic surgeons, supported by robust APP coverage that enhances clinic efficiency and patient access. This role offers the opportunity to deliver mission‑driven, high‑quality pediatric orthopedic care within a well‑established, multidisciplinary environment.
Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
