Highmark Health's Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to provide comprehensive care, lead in a teaching and research setting, and collaborate with Drexel University Medical School programs. The role includes academic appointments and participation in residency/fellowship activities within AHN's orthopedic division.

The position emphasizes a combination of clinical leadership, resident mentoring, and high-quality patient care within a robust health system.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Fellowship trained in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery.
• Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery; current PA/MD licensure.

Responsabilités

• Assess and plan patient care across age groups; develop therapeutic care plans.
• Document medical histories, assessments, medications and allergies; coordinate care.
• Perform examinations using standard procedures and AHN equipment; monitor progress and diagnosis.
• Provide patient and family consultations on diagnosis, prevention and management of disease.
• Issue medical orders for prescriptions, tests, referrals and follow-ups.
• Supervise midlevel providers and clinical staff in treatment plans and care delivery.
• Educate medical students and residents; participate in mentorship and teaching activities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper record-keeping and reporting in compliance with HIPAA and coding guidelines.
• Contribute to outreach, audits, and quality assurance within the department.
