Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania, in partnership with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, seeks an Associate Professor for the Pediatric Hand Surgeon role in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise in pediatric hand and upper extremity surgery is required, with an MD or equivalent degree and ABOS board certification or eligibility.

Responsibilities include clinical and didactic teaching across medical students, residents, and fellows; building a subspecialty hand surgery practice; and

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD degree required.
• Board certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery or eligible.
• Fellowship in hand surgery required; preference for pediatric hand surgery fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Teach clinical and didactic content to medical students, residents, fellows in hand surgery.
• Develop and grow a pediatric hand surgery practice within the department.
• Lead clinical and/or basic science investigations in hand surgery.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department ofOrthopaedic Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an AssociateProfessor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track.Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric hand andupper extremity surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery or eligible for such certification.

Teaching Responsibilities

• clinical and didacticinstruction of medical students, orthopaedic surgery residents,pediatric orthopaedic surgery fellows, and hand surgeryfellows.

Clinical Responsibilities

• building a practice inpediatric hand surgery, with additional duties in orthopedics surgery depending on candidate training.

Research or Scholarship Responsibilities

• clinical and/or basic science investigations in the field of orthopaedics surgery and, specifically, hand surgery.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited hand surgery fellowship is required.Preference will be given to candidates that have additionalfellowship training in pediatric hand surgery.
• The facultyappointment will be in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
