Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join the Waltham Operating Room team. The OR RN delivers safe, high-quality intraoperative care as circulating and scrub nurse for pediatric patients, with emphasis on family-centered care.

This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration in a fast-paced setting. 8- or 10-hour shifts with rotation and short-call as needed. Massachusetts RN license and BSN required; EPIC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience.
• Pediatric OR experience required; orthopedic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide intraoperative nursing care for patients and families.
• Act as liaison among patients, families, surgeons, anesthesia providers, and care team.
• Prepare OR and ensure equipment, supplies, and instrumentation readiness.
• Perform circulating and scrub duties per standards and policies.
• Document care in the EMR accurately.
• Provide patient- and family-centered care and education as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure safe, high-quality care.
