Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks a compassionate Pediatric Oncology Nurse to care for children undergoing cancer treatment. You will administer chemotherapy, manage central lines, monitor for side effects, and support families through complex plans.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to educate caregivers and advocate for patient needs in a challenging, growth‑oriented environment. You will participate in evidence-based care, maintain EMR documentation, and contribute to quality improvement

Qualifications

At least RN licensed and eligible for nursing practice in the state.
Experience in pediatric oncology settings preferred.
Experience with chemotherapy administration.
Knowledge of PICC/Port-a-Cath care and infection control.
Strong nursing assessment and critical thinking skills.
Proficient in EMR documentation and care planning.
Ability to educate families about treatment plans and home care.
Awareness of infection prevention and neutropenia management.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to pediatric oncology patients, including assessments and vital monitoring.
Administer chemotherapy, transfusions, and supportive medications safely and accurately.
Manage central lines, ports, and IV access with infection-control protocols.
Monitor and document treatment responses and adverse events.
Educate families on treatment plans, medications, and home care requirements.
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and care team members.
Support families emotionally during diagnosis, treatment, and transitions of care.
Maintain accurate EMR documentation and comply with hospital policies.
Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice updates.
Precept or mentor new nurses and contribute to unit education.
