Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital seeks a Pediatric Oncology Nurse II for Kay 5 nights, a 17-bed unit with a small nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for children with solid tumors or neuro-oncology disorders, including cell therapies and antibody infusions.

The position requires a BSN and an RN license (TN or compact), BLS is required and PALS/ACLS preferred. Night shift, one year of nursing experience, and strong assessment and patient education skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN required with 18 months of clinical nursing experience.
• St. Jude RN experience or other RN experience required.
• Intermediate pediatric assessment, critical thinking, and pain assessment skills.
• Experience in pediatric or oncology nursing preferred.
• Working knowledge of research protocols.
• Ability to provide care appropriate to all ages served.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care for pediatric oncology patients on Kay 5 nights.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor patient status and document findings accurately.
• Educate patients and families about treatments, side effects, and at-home care.
