Job summary

Pediatric Specialists of Virginia is seeking a Nurse Care Coordinator to support the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. The role coordinates outpatient pediatric oncology care, triages calls, and liaises with the solid tumor and neuro-oncology teams in Fairfax, VA.

Qualified candidates hold a BSN and Virginia RN licensure (or able to obtain), with pediatric hematology/oncology experience. The position offers full-time hours (8am-5pm) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN).
• Virginia RN licensure or ability to obtain license; BLS/CPR certification.
• 1 year of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology experience; 2 years RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for outpatient pediatric oncology patients with physicians and healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families on disease and treatment within multidisciplinary context.
• Triage patient calls and coordinate with Solid Tumor/Neuro-Oncology teams as needed.
• Document interactions and care provided in medical records.
• Utilize order entry for tests, prescriptions, and patient instructions.
