Abilis in Stamford, CT is seeking an experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapist Consultant to join our growing team. You will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide direct OT services addressing sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, and neurological challenges in children.

This role emphasizes working with families in home-based settings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and documenting progress to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Pediatric Occupational Therapist in Connecticut.
• Experience with sensory integration/processing, fine and gross motor delays, and neurological disorders.
• Preferred experience with pediatric feeding disorders and home-based therapy settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess pediatric clients’ sensory, motor, and neurological needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and family goals.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services addressing fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and neurological challenges.
• Deliver therapy in home-based settings to enhance daily living, play, and school participation.
• Use evidence-based interventions to promote independence and functional skills.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Train and support families and caregivers in strategies to reinforce therapy goals at home and in the community.
• Document therapy sessions, progress notes, and outcomes according to agency and regulatory standards.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Participate in team meetings, program planning, community advocacy, and professional development.
