Job summary

Pediatrics On Demand in Oak Lawn, IL, is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for part-time or full-time hours in urgent and primary care. The role focuses on pediatric assessment, triage, care planning, and family education in a high-volume setting. Requirements include an Illinois NP license and pediatric NP experience; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Illinois NP license required.
• Pedriatric NP certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year pediatric NP experience.
• Urgent Care experience a plus.
• Experience with high patient volume is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify changes in a child’s signs and intervene in emergent situations.
• Differentiate between normal and abnormal physical findings.
• Engage patients and families to determine illness types and extent.
• Create and implement individualized plans of nursing care.
• Document all patient care activities.
• Order and follow up on medical tests (blood work, x‑rays, scans).
• Diagnose and treat acute, chronic and critical illnesses.
• Educate patients and families.
• Respond to questions and concerns regarding treatments.
• Participate in community and clinic education programs.
• Maintain credentialing, license and board certification.
• Administer medication using age-appropriate guidelines.
• Evaluate signs and symptoms of abuse.
• Maintain patient privacy.
• Supervise health professional students.
• Demonstrate integrity, care, and compassion.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Employer.

Job description

Pediatrics On Demand is an Urgent Careand Primary Care located in Oak Lawn, IL. We also have a sister company Minis Walk In Clinic.We serve patients from birth to 21 years of age.

Part Time:2 11-12 hour shifts

Full Time:3 11-12 hourshifts

*Locum PRN moonlighting opportunities are available*

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify changes in a child’s signs and symptoms and intervene in emergent situations

• Differentiate between normal and abnormal physical findings

• Engage patients and their families in conversation to determine types and extent of illnesses

• Create and implement individualized plans of nursing care to meet each patient’s specific requirements

• Documents all patient care activities

• Order and follow up on medical tests such as blood work, x rays and other scan

• Diagnose and treat a wide array of acute, chronic and critical illnesses by effectively interpreting test results

• Educate patients and their families

• Act as a point of contact for responding to questions and concerns regarding treatments and illnesses

• Participates in community and clinic education programs

• Maintains current credentialing, license and board certification

• Administer medication using age-appropriate guidelines

• Evaluate a child for signs and symptoms of abuse

• Maintains privacy of patients

• Assists in supervision of health professional students

• Demonstrates integrity, care, and compassion when working with patients/families and staff

• Performs other duties assigned by Employer from time to time that are commensurate with professional services normally and customarily performed by a physician

Requirements:

• Illinois Nurse Practitioner License

• Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)

• 1+ years of pediatricexperience as a nurse practitioner

• Urgent Care experience is a PLUS

• Experience with high patient volumeis a PLUS

• Weekend availability
