Job summary

University Hospitals Urgent Care in Ohio is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to care for patients ages 0-26 in a fast-paced urgent care setting. The role emphasizes pediatric/adolescent care, evidence-based practice, and teamwork across centers.

The position offers FT or PT schedules with competitive compensation, benefits, CME allowance, and malpractice coverage. Travel to other UH Urgent Care centers may be required to support operations.

Qualifications

• PNP license required.
• 2+ years pediatric clinical experience preferred.
• Active medical license in state of practice or ability to obtain licensure.
• Current DEA registration.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications.
• Experience with procedures such as suturing and incision/drainage.
• Ability to read X-rays and EKGs.
• Credentialing with University Hospitals Urgent Care requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients ages 0-26, focusing on pediatric/adolescent care.
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a busy urgent care setting.
• Perform procedures within scope: suturing, incision/drainage, splinting, foreign body removal.
• Use age-appropriate techniques and comfort measures for pediatric patients.
• Read and interpret diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• Educate patients, families, and team members on care plans and health management.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation.
• Communicate clearly to support quality care and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with physicians and center team for efficient patient care.
• Participate in center meetings and professional development.

We are hiring Pediatric Nurse Practitioners for FT (30 or 36 hours) and PT (24 hours) schedules ONLY. At this time, we do NOT have opportunities for PRN/Per Diem and must have 2 yrs or more of Pediatrics experience.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients ages 0-26, with an emphasis on pediatric and adolescent care.
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a busy urgent care setting.
• Perform procedures within your scope of practice, including:
  • Suturing
  • Incision and drainage of abscesses
  • Splinting
  • Foreign body removal
• Apply age-appropriate techniques and comfort measures when treating pediatric patients.
• Read and interpret diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• Educate patients, families, and team members regarding care, treatment plans, and health management.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation.
• Ensure appropriate communication and documentation to support quality patient care and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with physicians and other members of the center team to provide efficient, high-quality care.
• Participate in center meetings, operational activities, and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain required certifications and specialty training.
• Travel to other University Hospitals Urgent Care centers as needed to support business needs.
• Perform other duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) license
• 2+ years of pediatric clinical experience preferred
• Active medical license in the state of practice or ability to obtain licensure
• Current DEA registration
• Current BLS and PALS certifications
• Strong clinical experience with pediatric patients
• Experience performing procedures such as suturing and incision/drainage
• Experience interpreting X-rays and EKGs
• Ability to meet University Hospitals Urgent Care credentialing requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative clinical team
• Willingness to travel to other centers as needed
