Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System's Women & Children’s Hospital Pediatrics unit seeks a compassionate registered nurse to care for patients from infants to young adults up to 21. The role emphasizes age-appropriate emotional support and comprehensive medical care within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, recognizing changes, and knowing when to intervene. New graduates are accepted; BLS is required before orientation and PALS within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing with Alabama licensure.
• Experience preferred; new graduates accepted.
• BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. PALS required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and detect changes requiring intervention.
• Provide age-appropriate emotional support and care for patients from infants to 21 years old.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including Pediatric Hospitalists, Nurse Practitioners, Residents, Physical Therapists, Respiratory Therapists, Pharmacists, Dieticians, Social Workers and Child Life Therapy.
