Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Nurse Educator for the Pediatrics PICU/Cardiac ICU to lead educational programs and professional development. You will drive onboarding, competency, and evidence-based practice initiatives to elevate patient care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership to design engaging educational activities and monitor outcomes, with travel up to 25%. RN licensure and BLS are required, and a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• 2+ years in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in an acute care hospital is preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN or has an active compact state license is required.
• Nationally recognized specialty certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in onboarding, orientation, and staff development programs.
• Provides orientation/onboarding to promote retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development.
• Manages competency development and evaluation.
• Designs educational activities to address practice gaps.
• Develops activities to improve knowledge, skills and practice.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and participates in research/QI.
• Identifies strategies for lifelong learning maturation.
• Utilizes novice-to-expert concepts for staff development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Master’s degree in nursing

2+ years in clinical education/leadership

2+ years in acute care hospital

RN license in state of practice

Nationally recognized specialty certification

Basic Life Saving (BLS)

Ability to travel up to 25%
