Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a Program Director for Neuropsychology to lead neuropsychology programming and clinical services. You will train staff, ensure evidence‑based assessments and treatments, and communicate findings to diverse audiences within the department.

You will develop educational materials, implement evidence‑based practice programs, and collaborate across psychiatry/behavioral health and related divisions while pursuing ABPP certification and Ohio licensure as required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in child/pediatric psychology with APA/CPA internship.
• Eligibility for licensure in Ohio.
• Completion of Pediatric Neuropsychology Post‑doctoral Fellowship (APPCN preferred). Board certification within five years of hire.
• ABPP certification required.
• Experience with medical populations preferred.

Program Director – Neuropsychology

The Program Director for Neuropsychology is responsible for oversight of programming, staff training, and ensuring adherence to the most effective evidence‑based psychological assessment and treatment modalities for neuropsychology services. The role reports directly to the Director of Psychology and serves as a liaison between the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and the departments/divisions where neuropsychology services are provided.

Responsibilities

• Oversee neuropsychology programming and clinical services.
• Train and supervise clinical staff.
• Ensure adherence to evidence‑based assessment and treatment protocols.
• Communicate evidence‑based practice findings to diverse audiences.
• Develop and deliver educational materials and training for evidence‑based practice.

Technical Expertise

• Skilled in communicating evidence‑based practice findings to diverse audiences.
• Ability to develop and deliver evidence‑based practice education and training materials.
• Experience in developing and implementing evidence‑based practice programs.
• Experience supervising clinical staff and overseeing clinical programs.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
• Experience working with electronic medical record software, such as EPIC, is preferred.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in child clinical psychology/pediatric psychology with completion of an internship in an APA/CPA‑accredited program.
• Eligibility for licensure in Ohio.
• Completion of a formal two‑year Pediatric Neuropsychology Post‑doctoral Fellowship (APPCN preferred). Board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology must be obtained within five years of hire.
• Experience with medical populations is preferred.

Education and Experience

• Minimum three years of experience contributing to and overseeing evidence‑based neuropsychological assessment programs and clinical staff.
• Ph.D. or Psy.D. with ABPP certification required.
