Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a social worker to provide high-quality psychosocial services supporting patient health and family well-being. The role emphasizes assessment, discharge planning, and community resource coordination within a leading pediatric hospital.

The candidate must hold a Master’s in Social Work and a Georgia LCSW license, with at least three years of postgraduate social work experience, preferably in a medical setting or with children and families.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited graduate school.
• Georgia Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license required or eligible.
• Minimum of three years of postgraduate social work experience.
• Experience in a medical setting and/or with children and families preferred.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and collaborate across services.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify strengths and barriers across the continuum of care.
• Assists patients and families in coping with illness, hospitalization, and end-of-life decisions.
• Plans discharge and ongoing medical care addressing psychosocial needs.
• Assists families in accessing resources to achieve stabilization and self-sufficiency.
• Acts as a mandated reporter for child protective services and coordinates safety needs with the care team.
• Documents and maintains patient information related to psychosocial services and participates in program initiatives.
