Job summary

CCAP’s Molar Express Pediatric Mobile Dental Program is seeking a Dental Assistant to serve children and families across Rhode Island from a fully equipped mobile clinic. You’ll work with a dedicated team as you travel to Newport County, Blackstone Valley, and the West Bay, bringing pediatric dental care directly to communities.

Join a statewide collaboration with EBCAP, BVCHC, RMHCNE and CCAP to expand access to care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Approved training course in dental assisting or equivalent.
• Ability to work with children and youth ages 2-21.
• English communication required; Spanish preferred.
• X-Ray Certification and current BLS/CPR.
• Knowledge of general dentistry and instruments.
• Basic computer skills.
• Immunizations and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to the dentist for pediatric patients.
• Prepare operatories and support sterilization and infection control.
• Take dental radiographs as qualified.
• Provide patient education and maintain supplies/equipment.
• Help keep the mobile program running smoothly.
