You will perform patient intake, vitals, EKG, POC testing, and help prepare exam areas, while maintaining documentation in the EHR and supporting scheduling and referrals. Qualifications

• Completion of a formal medical assisting program with certificate.
• CCMA or CMA national certification preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and directs to exam rooms; records brief history and vital signs.
• Performs EKG, point-of-care testing, visual acuity, and oximetry as directed; documents in EHR.
• Prepares instruments for sterilization and maintains sterile technique.
• Maintains clean, safe patient areas and exam rooms; monitors for hazards.
• Handles clinical phone calls and triages urgent concerns with nursing staff.
• Schedules patient appointments and resolves scheduling issues in the system.
• Coordinates referrals to hospitals and physicians; notifies patients timely.
• Obtains referrals and maintains patient confidentiality per policy.
• Manages mail, forms, and office communications; supports office efficiency.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and documents usage.
• Advocates for patients and protects privacy of medical records.
• Adapts to changes; may mentor new medical assistants.
• Operates office equipment (phone, fax, computer, copy machine).
• Performs med reconciliation and follows up with pharmacies or MD offices as needed.
• Acts as a preceptor to new hires and supports onboarding.
• Orders point-of-care testing and medical supplies as needed.
