Job summary

Children's Wisconsin is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Oak Creek location to support pediatric primary care teams. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, and assisting providers with immunizations and procedures.

Experience in pediatrics and EHR proficiency are preferred, with CMA certification and BLS required. The position requires flexibility for variable hours, including potential evenings or weekends during high volume periods.

Responsibilities

• Performs Pre-Visit Planning to improve visit efficiency and identify care gaps.
• Maintains a clean, organized exam area and prepares rooms for safety and clinical requirements.
• Greets patients and families and directs them to exam rooms to ensure smooth clinic flow.
• Assists with collection and documentation of vitals, measurements, screenings, allergies, and home medications.
• Assists providers in exams, administers medications and immunizations, and helps with procedures including capillary and peripheral blood draws.
• Communicates with providers and nurses to maintain clinic operations; alerts when patient needs immediate help.
• Manages supply needs and reports shortages to clinic leadership.
• Completes paperwork and pre-authorizations as needed; assists with front desk duties when required.
