Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP, ABHES, or other school approved by the Department of Education; MA certification from CMA or AMT in lieu of graduation.
• One year of experience in a health care or pediatric setting (preferred).
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) required within 90 days of employment; current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs and patient information in the EHR.
• Communicate patient information to the licensed health care provider.
• Perform EKGs, pulmonary function tests, and other diagnostic testing within MA scope.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing.
• Prepare and administer medications under supervision and follow labeling/storage policies.
• Assist with exams and procedures and provide patient education.
