Job summary

University of California, San Francisco is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse for a 3‑month assignment with potential extension. The LVN will provide clinical nursing care, support daily ambulatory operations, and ensure patient safety under supervision of the Administrative Nurse and physician staff.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, vaccine handling, and collaboration with the health care team to maintain high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Vocational Nurse in California.
• Relevant experience as an LVN or Medical Assistant.
• CPR Certification.
• Recent experience and/or knowledge of administering vaccines.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs and responses to regimens through observation of symptoms and backgrounds.
• Recognize and report conditions requiring provider attention.
• Collaborate with care team to develop goals and plans.
• Prepare exam rooms and patient intake processes.
• Administer medications and document accurately.
• Respond to medical emergencies, including CPR and procedures.
