Job summary

Walker Therapeutic and Educational Programs in Needham, MA, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Needham Campus. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LPN will provide routine and emergency medical services across residential, group and school programs.

Roles include administering medications, maintaining medical records, coordinating with staff, and supporting nursing internships while attending multidisciplinary meetings and fulfilling weekend coverage requirements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing and active LPN license.
• Interest in working with school‑aged children.
• Requires alternating weekend coverage and some holidays.
• New grads are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine medical care to students.
• Provide emergency care to students if necessary.
• Administer medications to students during shifts.
• Maintain medical records.
• Provide ongoing consultation to staff and attend required meetings.
• Ensure first aid supplies are available in all necessary locations.
• Track and schedule medical, dental and lab appointments.
• Provide in‑service training to staff.
• Communicate with parents/guardians as needed.
• Support nursing internships.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
