Job summary

WVU Medicine’s Pediatric Interventional Lab seeks an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist. You will assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures, maintain sterile technique, and acquire/post-process imaging while supporting on-call coverage.

Qualifications include graduation from a medical imaging program, active radiography license in WV/PA/OH/MD as applicable, ARRT certification, and BLS within 30 days. On-site role with a focus on neuroradiology and vascular IR.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
  • Must possess current Radiography license as required by state board where services will be provided.
  • National ARRT certification upon hire (within required timeframe).
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and interprets Hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Maintains sterile technique during procedures.
  • Documents procedures and inventories; ensures proper billing.
  • Instructs radiography students in clinical setting.
  • Maintains specialization in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR procedures.
  • Participates in on-call rotation and performance improvement activities.

State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:****EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:**1. Obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS) within one year of hire.**EXPERIENCE:**1. One (1) year of experience as an interventional radiologic technologist.**CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.1. Monitors and interprets Hemodynamic monitoring. 2. Observes sterile technique while assembling supplies necessary for physicians and other lab personnel involved to scrub and enter the lab without infraction 100% of the time. 3. Maintains the confidentiality of the patient and unit information, without infraction, as monitored by supervision. 4. Prepares entry site applicable to the procedure using sterile technique 5. Continuously monitors patient’s ECG and blood pressure while documenting and advising the physician of any and all activity in an accurate and timely manner and providing documentation that will become part of the patient’s permanent record. 6. Participates in the on-call rotation of the laboratory and remains available for emergent procedures 24 hours a day. 7. Acts as the laboratory’s code team by initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillators under the direct supervision of the physician in charge. 8. Correctly documents all procedures performed and utilizes the inventory control system that is established. Correctly bills for all procedures. 9. Participates in educational and in-service opportunities. 10. Instructs radiography students in the clinical setting with regard to patient positioning, technique selection, manipulation of equipment and the use of accessory devices to obtain Radiographic images. 11. Maintains specialization in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR procedures. 12. Participates in Inventory Management of the department. 13. Checks and prepares patient prior to procedure. 14. Participates in performance improvement activities. **For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements:**1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards.
