Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist II in the inpatient pediatrics department at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach. The role focuses on patient assessments, plan of care development, and implementation of treatments for pediatric patients, with a emphasis on collaboration with the health care team.

The position requires California PT licensure, BLS certification, and pediatric experience. A CCS panel or progress toward CCS is preferred; APTA membership is recommended.

Qualifications

• Two-years of relevant pediatric experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Licensure by the California Board of Physical Therapy; CCS paneled or working to fulfill requirements.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers.
• Recommended: Membership with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Responsibilities

• Independently conducts assessments and provides treatment to patients of moderate complexity.
• Completes thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of care provided.
• Manages time effectively and balances direct patient care with other departmental expectations.
