Job summary

Cook Children’s Health Care System is seeking an Inpatient Staff Occupational Therapist in Fort Worth to provide pediatric inpatient services, focusing on functional skills to support development and independence. Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment and home programming for various pediatric conditions within an acute medical setting.

The role involves patient and caregiver education, collaboration with the medical team, and adherence to department policies for documentation and care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in OT; Pediatric and/or Developmental experience preferred.
• BLS required.
• State license for occupational therapy or eligible for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-patient occupational therapy focusing on functional skills to enhance development and restore function.
• Evaluate, treat and create home programming for pediatric conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, neuromuscular and neurological impairments.
• Evaluate for assistive devices, activities of daily living, and fabrication of splints.
• Provide therapy to chronically ill patients admitted for lengthy stays; educate caregivers and collaborate with medical professionals.
