MUSC Health is seeking a Registered Nurse – Clinical Documentation Specialist I to review inpatient records and guide physicians toward precise documentation that supports accurate DRG assignments and patient severity scoring. The role emphasizes collaboration, clinical knowledge, and ongoing education across departments to improve documentation integrity and outcomes.

This is a regular, full-time on-site position reporting to the Manager, Clinical Documentation, with 40 scheduled hours per week

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• At least 5 years of RN experience, including 3 years in pediatric inpatient or ED.
• SC Board of Nursing licensure or compact state.
• CDI experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Review inpatient records to identify missing or vague diagnoses.
• Collaborate with providers to improve documentation for DRG accuracy.
• Support risk adjustment and validation of key diagnoses.
• Participate in ICCE meetings, QAPIs and educational activities.
