Job description

Provides patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, infection prevention, and follow-up care. Prescribes medications and therapies in accordance with licensure and institutional policies.Participates in the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners. Serves as a clinical resource for infectious diseases–related education within the department and hospital. Contributes to clinical guidelines, protocols, and pathways related to pediatric infectious diseases. Maintains current knowledge of pediatric infectious diseases through continuing education and professional development. **Preferred Qualifications****Education:** An advanced degree from an accredited school/college of nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. **Experience:** 1 year of pediatric clinical experience. Pediatric infectious diseases experience. **Preferred Competencies**Knowledge of electronic medical records. Ability to conduct physical examinations and health assessments. Ability to interview and obtain medical information. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills. Ability to work cooperatively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse setting. Ability to handle and relate sensitive information and work independently. Ability to troubleshoot problems regularly.
