Job summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Research Specialist to join the Williams Lab. The lab studies human metapneumovirus (HMPV) and aims to advance knowledge in viral pathogenesis using mouse models, epithelial cells, and immune profiling.

Responsibilities include mouse handling, infection, flow cytometry, ELISA, and molecular analyses such as western blotting.

Qualifications

• Previous lab experience in virology, immunology or molecular biology.
• Experience with cell culture and immunology methods is preferred.
• Experience with mouse models of viral infection is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and area.
• Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit staff and student workers.
• Reviews and interprets data for presentations and reporting.
