Job summary

The Nemours Cardiac Center of the Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a qualified pediatric hospitalist to join our cardiac unit. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position with a flexible schedule developed with the team including APPs and cardiology fellows.

We care for newborns to adolescents with congenital or acquired heart disease, and perform surgeries while advancing research and education.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent clinical doctoral degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an ACGME Accredited Pediatric Residency Program
• Board Eligibility/Certification in Pediatric Medicine

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized care to cardiac patients in the CICU and cardiac unit
• Work alongside advanced practice providers (APPs) and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers
• Participate in daytime, nighttime, weekend, and holiday shifts, with potential moonlighting opportunities available on an “as needed” basis
• Educate and mentor residents, fellows, and other trainees
• Contribute to academic initiatives in research, education, quality improvement, or operations

Job description

The Nemours Cardiac Center of the Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delawareis looking for a qualifiedpediatric hospitalist to join our cardiac unit. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, and the schedule is flexible and made in conjunction with other team members - including APPs and cardiology fellows.

The Nemours Cardiac Center (NCC) provides comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular disease. The Cardiac Center provides patient care, performs research, and educates health care professionals in a variety of settings.

Our patient population ranges from newborns to adults with congenital or acquired heart disease. Surgeries are performed on a variety of complex congenital heart abnormalities, including neonatal surgery, adult congenital surgery, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized care to cardiac patients in the CICU and cardiac unit.
• Work alongsideadvanced practice providers (APPs)and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers.
• Participate in daytime, nighttime, weekend, and holiday shifts, with potential moonlighting opportunities available on an “as needed” basis. The expectation is that approximately 33% shifts will be off shifts (nights and weekends).
• Educate and mentor residents, fellows, and other trainees.
• Contribute to academic initiatives in research, education, quality improvement, or operations.
