Job summary

Columbus Regional Health is seeking a Board-eligible or Board-certified Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team in Columbus, Indiana. You will provide essential inpatient pediatric care, including nursery and newborn rounds, while collaborating with a regional health system and OB/GYN teams.

Our program offers access to EPIC EMR, a supportive leadership team, and a 7 on/7 off, 12-hour shift pattern to maintain work-life balance in a thriving community setting.

Qualifications

• Board-eligible or board-certified pediatrician.
• NRP and PALS certification required.
• Experience with neonatal resuscitation and pediatric inpatients.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient pediatric care, including nursery and newborn rounding.
• Manage ED consults in addition to hospital rounding.
• Work within Level I/II Nursery with newborn care responsibilities.

The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative designated Birthing Center at Columbus Regional Health provides a full range of baby delivery services welcoming over 1,300 babies each year. Each LDRP room boasts state-of the-art equipment and is on the same level as a designated C-Section OR suite. The Birthing Center offers two levels of nursery care and includes a physician lounge equipped with a screen for fetal monitoring of each patient.

• Responsible for Emergency Department consults in addition to rounding on pediatric inpatients, nursery, & newborns
• Level I and II Nursery – average births per year is 1,300
• Pediatric Unit 1-3 patient average (4-6 average during busy season)
• 17 bed Birthing Center supported by nurses that are cross-trained to provide labor/delivery, postpartum, and newborn care

REQUIRED PROCEDURES WITH RECENT EXPERIENCE:

• Neonatal Resuscitation
• Intubation
• Lumbar Puncture
• Circumcision (on-site training available)
• Emergency Needle Thoracentesis
• Umbilical Lines, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, IV fluids, tube feedings, antibiotics

• REQUIRED: NRP and PALS certified
