Houston Hospice in Houston, TX seeks a dedicated Child Life Specialist to support pediatric patients and families facing life-limiting illness. You will use developmentally appropriate methods, memory-making, education, and grief support as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Strong communication and documentation skills are essential to deliver compassionate, family-centered care. The role requires ACLP-endorsed coursework, a 600-hour internship, and CPR/BLS certification; a degree in a relevant

Competenze

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Completion of ACLP-endorsed coursework.
Completion of a 600-hour supervised internship.
CCLS credential or eligibility within 6–12 months.
Current CPR/BLS certification.

Mansioni

Provide developmentally appropriate emotional and psychosocial support to pediatric hospice patients and families.
Develop individualized care plans based on coping abilities and developmental needs.
Assist with understanding illness, end-of-life experiences, and grief.
Facilitate legacy-building and memory-making activities.
Prepare families for procedures with compassionate communication.
Collaborate with nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other team members.
