Job summary

University of Iowa is seeking a full-time Clinical Coordinator in the UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The role coordinates care across disciplines, develops patient care plans, and supports outreach clinics and camps for bleeding disorders across the lifespan.

The position requires RN licensure, a nursing degree, and at least one year of nursing experience, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
  • Registered Nurse with a current, valid Iowa RN license or eligible to become licensed in the state of Iowa.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates care with multiple disciplines during comprehensive clinic visits.
  • Develops and implements patient care plans based on diagnoses and planned surgeries or procedures.
  • Interacts with staff, patients, peers, and others in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining clinical expertise consistent with patient population requirements and current nursing and medical practice.
  • Provide health education to patients, family members, and fellow health care members.
  • Assist with once yearly outreach clinic to Amish population on a Saturday.
  • Assist with annual Hemophilia/Bleeding Disorder Camp.
  • Travel may be included
