Position Summary

The Division of Hematology/Oncology and BMT at Phoenix Children’s seeks a full‑time, board‑eligible/certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist to join the Leukemia and Lymphoma Section. The candidate will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of hematologic malignancies, with an interest in early phase clinical trials. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient clinical care in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD), teaching, and participation in clinical and translational research.

CCBD sees ~400 new oncology patients per year, including >140 hematologic malignancies. The center offers phase I/II industry‑sponsored studies and investigator‑initiated trials and is an ACGME‑approved program with three fellows per year.

Candidates should have a strong interest in mentoring and program development, be board‑eligible or certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and have an academic rank commensurate with experience.

Academic appointments are through Mayo Clinic Arizona and the University of Arizona‑College of Medicine, Phoenix.

Position Duties
  • Patient Care Services
    • Provide patient care on inpatient and outpatient basis, including consultations and follow‑up.
    • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures and urgent/emergent care as needed.
    • Strive to achieve best patient and family–centered care, support hospital patient‑satisfaction goals, and adhere to patient‑safety and quality standards.
    • Practice contemporary evidence‑based medicine.
  • Divisional Responsibilities
    • Achieve annual physician goals and objectives.
    • Support medical education, including supervision of trainees and allied health professionals, teaching rounds, lectures, and conference.
    • Participate in research activities and support division research initiatives.
    • Support programmatic growth of division and satellite efforts.
