Cook Children’s Heart Center in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Pediatric Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to join a nationally recognized pediatric cardiovascular program. Qualified candidates should have completed a Pediatric Cardiology fellowship with additional heart failure/transplant training and be eligible for Texas medical licensure.

Strong inpatient/outpatient experience and teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Completed accredited Pediatric Cardiology fellowship.
• Additional training in heart failure, transplant, and mechanical circulatory support.
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient management of pediatric patients with advanced heart failure and cardiomyopathies.
• Participate in heart transplant evaluations and selection committee activities.
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, APPs, pharmacists, social workers, and transplant coordinators.
• Share call coverage for heart failure and transplant services.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and program development.
• Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in clinical or translational research aligned with career interests.

Summary

The Cook Childrens Heart Center is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and collaborative Pediatric Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to join our growing and nationally recognized pediatric cardiovascular program in Fort Worth, Texas. Qualified candidates must have completed an accredited Pediatric Cardiology fellowship with additional training in management of heart failure, transplant, mechanical assist devices, and be board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Cardiology. Applicants must also be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric cardiology, all aspects of heart failure and transplant cardiology, and demonstrate a strong commitment to exceptional patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient management of pediatric patients with:
• Advanced heart failure
• Cardiomyopathies
• Mechanical circulatory support devices
• Pre- and post-heart transplantation
• Participate in heart transplant evaluations and selection committee activities.
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, and transplant coordinators.
• Participate in shared call coverage for heart failure and transplant services.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and program development.
• Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in clinical research, translational research, or outcomes-based research consistent with career interests.
• Support compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for transplant programs.

Dedicated Cardiac MRI magnet

Fully digital echocardiography laboratory with seamless integration across all outreach clinic locations, allowing real-time image review and collaborative interpretation

Our cardiovascular surgical team performs approximately 450500 congenital cardiac surgeries annually, while our catheterization laboratories perform 600650 interventional, diagnostic, and electrophysiology procedures each year.

Major Expansion

Cook Childrens is currently undergoing a major cardiovascular expansion that will add:

• 1 additional cardiac catheterization laboratories
• 2 new cardiovascular operating suites
• Expanded echocardiography facilities
• New 28-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU)
• New 28-bed inpatient cardiovascular care space
