Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric GI to join our team at Lake Success, with service coverage also in Brooklyn. The NP will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, working with a multidisciplinary team to promote safe, effective care for pediatric patients.

The role requires a Master's NP, NYS NP and RN licenses, BLS, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse License.
• Current NYS Nurse Practitioner license and NP certification.
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and organizes care to meet patient needs and ensures appropriate resource utilization.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement the plan of care for a group of patients.
• Prescribes in-patient and discharge medications according to NYS law, including controlled substances with DEA authorization.
• Performs complete health histories, physical exams, and psychosocial assessments.
• Facilitates continuity of care across care continuum, including home care and follow-up appointments.
