Job summary

The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Genetics invites applications for a non-tenure eligible clinical faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in pediatric genetics. The team includes three geneticists and multiple professionals, with responsibilities including staffing clinics in Charlottesville and satellite clinics.

Inpatient coverage and newborn screening triage are expected.

Qualifications

• The position is open to individuals with MD or DO degrees and candidates must be eligible for appointment to the University of Virginia faculty.
• The incumbent must be board-certified or eligible in clinical genetics, and will be expected to contribute to clinical service in that subspecialty.
• Preference is for candidates with genetics board certification or eligibility.
• An active research interest is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Staffing general genetic and metabolic clinics in Charlottesville, with monthly/bi-monthly satellite clinics in Winchester, Lynchburg, and Bristol.
• Shared coverage of the inpatient consultation service.
• Timely response to the triage of newborn screening cases.
