Job summary

Nemours Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our General Surgery team in Wilmington, DE. This APP will provide general surgery and trauma care for patients from 0 through 21 years of age, functioning independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team.

Coverage includes overnight, weekend, and day shifts with emphasis on prioritizing workload, communication, and high-quality pediatric care in both hospital and outpatient

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current certification by appropriate certifying body.
• Active Delaware PA license or Pediatric NP license.
• AHA BLS, PALS and ATLS.
• Minimum of 3 years pediatric experience, surgery background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general surgery and trauma care for patients from birth to 21 years old.
• Function independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team.
• Participate in trauma resuscitation and in surgical/trauma consultations hospital-wide.
• Coordinate care with families in hospital and outpatient settings.
